BizMachine is in its fifth year of helping to streamline B2B business for local and global companies, primarily in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. More than 300 companies and 1 000 people use our product and services. Although we have grown into a company with a stable annual turnover of around 2 million EUR within five years of existence, we still retain the speed and mindset of a startup. Our primary focus is to deliver solutions to our clients that help them with their business. We are helping them to increase turnover, reach precisely selected customers, or discover a part of the market with great potential, but previously with not enough information.

Our analysts need someone in the party to help them put clever ideas into an efficient and modern data pipeline.

What Does a Data Engineer Do at BizMachine?

  • Creates, improves, accelerates, and maintains data pipelines for data collection and processing, analytics, and data science. Collects data using scraping, MongoDB. Analyzes data in Python (pandas, Dask, etc.) and SQL. Both locally and in Azure cloud.

  • Builds and deploys internal applications and APIs (most often FastAPI or Django + Celery + RabbitMQ).

  • Gradually gets familiar with deploying apps in Docker, orchestrating tasks (Airflow, Azure Data factory) but doesn't dig into networks, permissions, or fixing printers.

  • Develops analysts' ideas, i.e., asks them uncomfortable questions and helps them get the products out of initial ideas and concepts.

  • Has a major say in how, where, and from where the data should flow.

How do we envision you?

You have 2 years of experience in data processing, analytics, big data or engineering.
You're good with Python and have mastered the development culture: What's not in git doesn't exist, merge conflict isn't the end of the world.
You have experience working with unstructured data sources and relational databases.

You are creative, like to think and solve complex problems.

You take your work seriously and you care about its results.
You want to work with a large number of diverse data sources that change over time.
